Canon USA Inc. has signed a long-term lease for about 174,000 square feet at an industrial building in Woodridge.
Denver-based ProLogis, which developed the building, announced the lease in a news release, but a spokeswoman declined to disclose the location of the facility.
The building is 10350 N. Beaudin Blvd. in southwest suburban Woodridge, according to a source. It’s in Internationale Centre off Interstate 55.
The facility was built “on spec” — meaning no tenants had been signed in advance — and was completed in late 2007, the ProLogis spokeswoman says.
The building is 348,625 square feet and has one other tenant, CEVA Logistics, which leases 127,699 square feet, according to real estate research firm CoStar Group Inc. That would leave about 47,000 square feet vacant in the building.
Lake Success, N.Y.-based Canon USA, which makes cameras and copiers, printers and other office equipment, signed the lease this month, the ProLogis spokeswoman says. Its parent is Tokyo-based Canon Inc.
ProLogis recently inked the largest new industrial lease of the year in the Chicago area, with Kimberly-Clark Corp. agreeing to occupy a speculative 750,485-square-foot distribution center in Romeoville that was completed in early 2007.
