Repak Spends $12.5 Milion on N. Milwaukee Retail Buildings

Northbrook-based developer,Repak Real Estate Development Corp., has snapped up four retail buildings on Milwaukee Avenue near the heart of Bucktown.

Repak Real Estate Development Corp. paid $12.5 million for the Bucktown/Wicker Park-area properties, which include a Citibank branch at 1455 N. Milwaukee and three buildings from 1519-1529 N. Milwaukee, where Urban Outfitters is a tenant along with the boutique Hejfina and Crossroads Trading Co., an upscale consignment shop.

Repak, a retail developer, bought the properties from Chicago-based Hood Development LLC and took out a five-year, $9.38-million loan from J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. to finance the acquisition, according to property records.

The sale marks Repak’s first foray into the trendy Northwest Side neighborhood.
